Stefan Dopking has over 20 years' experience in insolvency and corporate recovery. He has gained valuable insight through his professional roles, which include working in a specialist advisory and recovery practice within Coopers & Lybrand (now PwC), and more recently, as a Senior Executive at ASIC where he was responsible for its national insolvency team.
Stefan focuses on corporate receiverships, business reviews and financial health assessments for lenders and directors. Through his experience, Stefan has developed a specialisation in the tourism, property, retail and hospitality, agricultural and manufacturing sectors.
Stefan has regularly presented around Australia and internationally on insolvency processes and procedures, and has worked closely with Australia’s peak insolvency industry body, the Insolvency Practitioners Association (IPA), in developing improved standards.
Through ASIC’s work with receivers and administrators during the GFC, Stefan gained exposure to many large corporate failures. Additionally, Stefan has experience in difficult recoveries having worked on litigious court appointed receiverships and given evidence in court on reconstructed financial information.
